This is Part 1 of a two season long (F/W’21 &’22) trim suite redesign of The North Face’s pinnacle collection, Summit Series. Part 1 consists of the redesign of all aluminum tensioning hardware, along with Snow zipper pullers (branded as Steep Series) and hooded cord pull.
The team liked the functionality of the current tensioning hardware but wanted a simpler design aesthetic with an analog feel. David took inspiration from the metal stamping manufacturing process, the technique used for the aluminum tensioning hardware, for the entire suite design.
Part 2 (Coming F/W’22) will feature a redesigned YKK zipper suite and corded zipper puller suite made using 100% recycled polyester and TPU.
