Strada GT was the first shoe that I designed and made, a cycling shoe that offers a refined, vintage aesthetic in a modern context. I completed it during my junior year studio class, Wearables: From Head to Toe, taught by Anne Marika Verploegh Chassé. I consider the Strada GT cycling shoe to be more of a passion project that allowed me to learn the basics of shoemaking and create a shoe that is inspired by two of my interests: vintage automobiles (specifically the Ferrari 250 GT SWB) and cycling apparel.
The Strada GT shoes are constructed using Italian, full-grain leather for the upper, Texon insoles and carbon fiber outsoles (made in-house).
