David won this year’s Design Within Reach ‘Best Original’ champagne chair contest with his creation of ‘Chairplane.’ He’s competed in the annual contest for the past two years and was a finalist in last year’s ‘Best Likeness’ contest with his creation of a 1/8 scale Eames molded rocking chair. For the past two years, the rules have been to create a chair using any or all of the materials (except glass) from no more than two (2) bottles of champagne, sparkling wine, or sparkling cider, any brand.
